PATRICK RETURNS TO GRAND-AM RACING THIS WEEKEND FOR THE BOSCH ENGINEERING 250!

PATRICK RETURNS TO GRAND-AM RACING THIS WEEKEND FOR THE BOSCH ENGINEERING 250!VIRGINIA, APRIL 21 2010 – Multiple Mobil 1 Porsche Super Cup champion Patrick Huisman will make a return to the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series this weekend as he joins Synergy Racing in their bid to claim victory in the Bosch Engineering 250. At the Virginia International Raceway, the 43-year old Dutch driver teams up with team owner Cole Scrogham again, after having already worked numerous times together in the last few years. Their last cooperation dates from January 2008, where Huisman joined the team for the 24 hours of Daytona.

This time around, Huisman and the team target success both on and off the track, as Synergy Racing will serve as a fundraising focal point for J. Sargeant Reynolds College. Based in Richmond, the J. Sargeant Reynolds College connection to Synergy Racing and the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series is not one of happenstance, as the school has established a well-recognized automotive studies program in addition to a wide range of academic programs. The College has been rapidly expanding, and is hoping that the race outing will only accelerate that process, as fans are invited to pledge to sponsor a race lap, with all the proceeds donated going to help fund the College's new Downtown Campus science lab renovations project.

The partnership between Synergy Racing and J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College will see the College colors being carried on the team's familiar No. 81 entry. The program will also see a strong contingent of students and College affiliates on hand for the race, which will mark round four of the 2010 GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series championship.

SPEED Channel will carry the Bosch Engineering 250 flag to flag on April 24 starting at 2 p.m.

PATRICK HUISMAN: “I’m very thankful to Cole Scrogham for handing me the opportunity to return to Grand-Am racing with his outfit. Together we’ve celebrated several successes throughout the last couple of years, so I’m really looking forward to maximize our opportunities both on and off the track this weekend. I think the partnership between the team and J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College is a truly inspirational concept, and one which motivates me very much to give my best to make it succeed!”
